the trap

You didn't build this
to be trapped inside it.

You've got revenue, a team, and a business that runs.

Yet every real decision still comes back to you. Every crisis needs your number and every exception, your judgment.

You are the machine. And somewhere along the way, that stopped feeling like success.

"I can't ever fully disconnect for a weekend.
Let alone two weeks."

"My team is capable. But nothing moves without me."

"I built this for freedom.
I haven't taken a real vacation in three years."

This is founder dependency. It is the single most expensive problem in your business, and most founders are proud of it.

What This Is

This isn't coaching or consulting.
This is structural redesign.

Founder Optionality Engineering is what it looks like when someone installs the solution instead of describing it.

We don't hand you a plan and wish you luck, nor coach you through mindset shifts. We definitely don't produce a binder of recommendations you'll never look at.

We install the leadership architecture, decision systems, financial instrumentation, and revenue structures that allow your business to operate without you at the center of everything.

"Optionality isn't an exit strategy.
It's what makes exit optional."

The Framework

Optionality Architecture™

A 12-month structural redesign that removes founder dependency and installs the systems that make your business self-operating.

The 30-day Absence Test

Can your business run for 30 days without you and not miss a beat?

If the honest answer is no, that is the problem we solve.

01

Diagnose

Every engagement begins with a full business diagnostic across 24 growth drivers. Each gap is quantified into an estimated enterprise value impact, so you see exactly what each piece is costing you.

02

Sequence

Fixing things in the wrong order breaks other things, so priorities are sequenced by consequence. Like a triage physician allocating resources across critical patients, the work is ordered so each intervention makes the next one possible.

03

Install

Working with the founder, we coordinate delivery of the major milestones that remove you from the center of operations. Each win is defined, measurable, and sequenced to build on the last.

Who Builds This

He didn't learn this in a classroom.
He built an acquirable business before he knew that's what it was called.

Steven Nootbaar spent eight years as the operational backbone of a Florida insurance agency. As the "Wearer of Many Hats," he worked directly alongside the owners: processing commissions, building the analytics infrastructure, heading customer service, monitoring compliance, and serving as a rapidly-evolving Chief of Staff.

When commission statements didn't match his records, he pulled three years of statements and audited each one. The net: over $1 million in unpaid commissions. Florida Blue paid before inviting Steven to meet their analytics head.

The agency grew to become the #1 Florida Blue General Agency, and the owners had a successful exit through acquisition, having built the kind of company someone would want to buy. He had been the single point of failure in that business for most of its growth. In removing that dependency from the owners, he learned how to remove it from himself.
